Generation Health Community - A Family-Based Healthy Living Program

Provided by Childhood Healthy Living Foundation (CHL)

Free family-based 10-week program held in communities across B.C. to support healthy living behaviors.

The Program Includes

  • 10 weekly, in-class sessions, 2 hours long, that focus on healthy eating and active living, goal setting, family mealtimes and family physical activity, sleep, screen time, and self-compassion, and positive parenting
  • 10 weekly, in-person or online sessions providing additional content including, activities and recipes, for you to try as a family
  • Q&A sessions with a Registered Dietitian and a Mental Health Professional
  • A mobile App to support families with goal-setting, family challenges, and provide recipes, for 6 months post-program
  • A $150 family physical activity credit to use in their community
  • A family activity kit including program handouts, water bottle, jump rope, and catching scarves

Program Requirements

  • Child is 8 to 12-years-old. with siblings aged 6-7 and 13 welcome to attend as well
  • Parent/caregiver is able to attend all sessions with the child
By registering for the program, families agree to:
  • Attend all 10 in-class sessions
  • Participate in the evaluation of the program if desired, to obtain a $20 grocery gift card
